Abstract: Non-destructive testing (NDT) is a highly significant technology for assessing the condition of building structures and constructions without causing any damage to the original structure. This study focuses on presenting the importance and benefits of using NDT techniques in evaluating the quality and stability of buildings, including visual inspection and the use of the Schmidt hammer for estimating concrete compressive strength, in accordance with the guidelines of TIS 1902-62. Non-destructive testing offers several advantages, such as the ability to quickly and efficiently assess structural conditions, reduced inspection costs compared to destructive testing, preservation of structural integrity during inspection, and the capability to conduct assessments while the building remains in use. The information obtained from these inspections can be utilized for making informed decisions regarding repairs, structural strengthening, or improvements, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and saving costs in the long term.
