Abstract: This research aims to develop a process for preparing neodymium oxide-doped glass using microwave techniques to identify optimal conditions for microwave melting. The resulting glass properties were analyzed, including density, refractive index, light absorption, and color in the CIE Lab* system. The study found that the density and refractive index tended to increase with higher concentrations of Nd2O3, whereas the molar volume showed a decreasing trend, inversely correlated with the Nd2O3 concentration. Absorption spectra in the wavelength range of 250–1,000 nanometers revealed peaks at approximately 330 354 341 474 526 582 627 682 747 806 and 876 nm These absorption peaks correspond to transitions from the ground state 4I9/2 to the excited states 2P1/2 2K15/2+2G9/2 4G11/2 4G9/2 4G7/2 2G5/2 2H9/2 4F9/2 4F7/2 4F5/2 and 4F3/2 respectively
