The Development of Time Attendance Online System using the Location coordinates.

Abstract

This article presents the development of an online work recording system with location tracking, aimed at enhancing the convenience and efficiency of personnel clock-in and clock-out processes, and for recording attendance data in agricultural plots managed by the Agriculture, Food, and Energy Centre of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Prince of Chumphon. The developed system records employees' clock-in and clock-out data using the Google Sheets application and provides a web application as a user interface. Personnel can use mobile phones or computers to clock in and out by entering their full name, selecting the check-in/check-out location, and then performing a check-in or check-out action. A check-in must be completed before a check-out can be registered. The system restricts check-in and check-out to predefined plot areas by verifying the user’s GPS location from their device. The recorded data on Google Sheets includes the employee's full name, check-in time, check-out time, total hours worked per day and month for each area, the name of the check-in/out location, and the corresponding GPS coordinates. The designed system can calculate labor costs per plot and present the data through bar graphs. Experimental results from September 2024 to March 2025 show that the system operates accurately and reliably. The developed system is practical and user-friendly.
