dc.description.abstract | This article examines the guidelines for regulating AI news anchors in television programs across different countries and relevant organizations. It also explores the impact of using AI news anchors in television programs and proposes a framework for regulating AI news anchors in Thailand’s television industry. The study employs a qualitative research method by collecting and analyzing data from academic articles, publications, laws, and related news. It investigates the regulatory approaches of the European Commission (EU), National Press Council of Thailand, The Paris Charter on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and media and journalism, including the study of the early-adopter countries that have implemented AI news anchors, such as China, India, and Indonesia. The findings reveal that no organization or country has established specific regulations for AI news anchors. Instead, the regulation is part of broader AI technology governance or the regulation of AI technology usage in media organizations as a whole. The introduction of this technology has both positive and negative impacts on the stakeholders involved, including: 1) media organizations, 2) news anchors in television programs, 3) television news viewers, and 4) regulatory organizations. Currently, television channels in Thailand have begun adopting AI news anchor technology, but there are no specific regulations in place to govern this issue. This article, therefore, proposes a regulatory framework for this technology in the context of Thailand, in order to keep pace with changes and maximize benefits for all stakeholders. This includes ensuring the accuracy of information, maintaining neutrality in news presentation, and considering the impact on viewers, in order to promote the creative use of AI in line with media ethics and professional standards. | en_US |
