Economic Factors Influencing the Saving Behavior of Students in the Faculty of Science, Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University

Abstract

This research aimed to (1) compare the saving behavior of students in the Faculty of Science at Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University based on personal factors, and (2) examine the relationship between economic factors and the saving behavior of these students. This was a quantitative study utilizing a survey method. The sample consisted of 50 students from the Faculty of Science, selected through convenience sampling. The statistical methods employed included descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, as well as inferential statistics including t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The research findings revealed that (1) there were no statistically significant differences in saving behavior among students when classified by gender, age, or academic year. (2) A study examining the relationship between economic factors and saving behavior among Science Faculty students at Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University found a statistically significant positive correlation between student income and their saving behavior (r=.514). Following this, financial support from family also showed a statistically significant positive correlation with saving behavior among these students (r=.451).
