Factors associated with pulmonary function among motorcycle taxi drivers in Mueang District, Nakhon Pathom Province

Abstract

The objective of this study was to find pulmonary function and factors associated with pulmonary function among 150 motorcycle taxi drivers in Mueang District, Nakhon Pathom Province. It was a cross-sectional descriptive study. Data were collected by using face-to-face interviews and spirometer and were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and chi-square test. The study found that motorcycle taxi drivers were abnormal pulmonary function (88.0%). No factors were associated with pulmonary function, gender (p=0.849), age (p=0.396), working experience (p=0.409), working hours per day (p=0.702), smoking history (0.487), and history of exercise (p=0.728). These findings may be the health information in promotion, prevention, surveillance, and control of hazards from pulmonary function among motorcycle taxi drivers in the future.
