Abstract: The research paper Chococate pie and bridge: Women experience and colored women identity in “The Help” novel aims to 1) to study this novel as narrative respond of women that reveals the oppression of patriarchal system 2) to study this novel as narrative that create colored women identity in context of 1962 American society, which is strictly discriminated about skin color in Jackson, Mississippi. This state is the setting of this novel which was the one of seven “slave states” in American civil war period. The study reveals that 1) This novel is the narrative respond to patriarchal system that limit women’s potential. It also creates the solution for the women to unlimited the patriarchal system 2) This novel helps creating new understanding for the reader by using the experience of the maid as colored women voices. Their own voices revealed experiences about being the maid in the white family as witness. It also is a respond narrative for the unfair that white people and society have to face in those period of time
