Abstract: | The purpose of this survey research was to study attitudes and risky behavior from using mobile phones while driving motorcycles among undergraduate students at the Occupational Health and Safety program of Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University. The research includes a sample group consisting of 114 undergraduate students from the Occupational Health and Safety Department. These students are in their first to fourth year of study, Semester 1 of the Academic Year 2022. The instrument was a questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, such as frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation (SD), were used to analyze the data. The results of the study found that the majority of the sample were female (83. 30 percent). The majority of the sample (50.9 percent) used mobile phones while driving a motorcycle takes less than 1 minute each time. Most of them use mobile phones to receive the calls while driving motorcycles (51.8%). The majority of them (51.80%) received every call they get while driving a motorcycle. More than half of the sample (52.6%) avoid using any kind of accessory to use a phone while driving a motorcycle. Most of the sample group had an overall attitude towards the behavior of using mobile phones while driving a motorcycle at a high level (mean 3.80, standard deviation = 0.23). The attitude towards using a mobile phone while driving a motorcycle poses a high risk of causing accidents (mean = 4.25). |
