Abstract: This research was a quasi-experimental study using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The objective of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the Thanya Model in promoting breast self-examination skills among the elderly. The population consisted of 33 elderly people in Tha Thong Mai Subdistrict, Kanchanadit District, Surat Thani Province, selected by purposive sampling. The research instruments consisted of: (1) the Thanya Model developed by the research team for training breast self-examination skills, (2) a skill assessment form used to measure breast self-examination skills before and after using the model, and (3) a satisfaction questionnaire after using the model. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and paired t-test. The results showed that after the experiment, the elderly had a significantly higher mean score of breast self-examination skills than before the experiment at the 0.05 level of statistical significance. The findings indicate that the Thanya Model is effective in promoting breast self-examination skills among the elderly.
