dc.description.abstractThis paper presents the design of a self-excited hydro turbine-driven generator system connected to the grid. The research design involved testing to find the parameters of a three-phase induction motor with a capacity of 2. 2 kW 4 poles. The research design also involved finding the parameters of the induction motor to determine the appropriate capacitance value for building the generated excitation system, transforming the motor into a self-excited generator. Additionally, initial power simulations were conducted to drive the self- excited hydro turbine- driven generator system with a Kaplan- type water turbine. The output power from the turbine simulation was then used to simulate the output power through a control drive system capable of adjusting the rotational speed and connecting to the self- excited generator. The performance of the self-excited hydro turbine-driven generator system was tested by simulating changes in the water flow rate through the turbine and the headwater level passing through the turbine. Experimental results showed that changes in the flow rate and headwater level had an impact on the output power from the self-excited hydro turbine-driven generator system connected to the grid, increasing the output power flow into the grid.en_US
