Development a set of Self-learning Activities to Strengthen Squad-level basic Skills for Students in Elementary Sergeant Course

Abstract

The purposes of this research were (1) to create and find performance a set of Self-learning Activities to Strengthen Squad-level basic skill according to the 80/80 criteria, (2) to compare learning outcomes after training with the criteria of 80 percent, ( 3 ) to assess Squad-level basic Skills, and (4) to evaluate desired characteristics. The quasi-experimental research pattern one group posttest - only design. Collect information from population is 460, the sample is Class 8 students, set the size according to the Krejcie & Morgan table, by cluster random sampling and stratified random sampling from based line of 113 people. The tools is training plan, training evaluation test, basic skills assessment form and the desirable characteristics assessment form. The data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test and one-way ANOVA. The results of the research can be summarized as follows: (1) the result of creating a set of self-learning activities developed, Good quality is appropriate at a high level (×̅ = 4.17, S.D. = 0.50) and efficiency equal to 88.92/80.00 and (2) the results of using the self-learning activity package. Found that learning outcomes after training were higher, with an average of 85.36, 80 percent passing the criteria, having basic skills at a good group level, an average of 26.42, representing 88.07 percent, and having desirable characteristics at a good level, an average of 4.41, equivalent to 88.20 percent.
