Abstract: Non-communicable diseases are a health problem that is more likely to increase. The main goal of care is to reduce the morbidity rate, mortality rates, and health care promotion which village health volunteers close take care of and help this group of patients. Therefore, the development of competency for village health volunteers to be able to take care of patients is very important. This study was a systematic review. The purpose of this study was to study the body of knowledge about the competency of village health volunteers and caring for non-communicable disease patients to draw conclusions that are based on empirical evidence and will be used as a guideline to enhance the potential of artificial intelligence for the care of patients with chronic non-communicable diseases. The study samples were graduate, master thesis, and other research in Thailand about 9 studies during 2018-2022. The content of the literature was evaluated for reliability, analysis, and synthesis. The review found that there were several village health volunteers’ competencies such as health literacy, health behavior, health communication, basic care, and information service. There were many ways to develop the capacity of village health volunteers, such as developing a knowledge-based program through lectures, discussions, reflections, and attitude-building. practical training, and study of the experiences of village health volunteers. This review of the literature on the development of village health volunteers' competencies could apply the knowledge gained as a guideline for developing village health volunteers' competencies.
