Abstract: | This abstract is only a part of research on social capital of local administrative organization regarding justice facilitation for communities, derived from process of review of literature, relevant research, and documents retrieved from academic conferences at national level, with the objective to learn about success of different countries that have adopted alternative process of justice to efficiently divert cases from mainstream process of justice. Because currently, mainstream process of justice is problematic due to its system and structure, that is why there are cases flooding out of courts, human flooding out of prisons. Also, people feel that they need to be attended by the system of process of justice, but its service does not comprehensively satisfy such needs. These reasons will bring along many more problems if a plan of reform for the next centuries is not yet drafted. Countries taken as case study of this success are 4 in total, namely, Australia, Lao’s People Democratic Republic, Republic of South Africa, and Canada. Each of these countries has adopted alternative process of justice and has determined it in written law. Different processes of these are 1) Victim-Offender Mediation (VOM) 2) Family Group Conferencing (FGC) 3) Circle Sentencing (CS) and 4) Community Reparative Board. |
