Abstract: | The article “The Establishment of the Antigonid Kingdom in the Hellenistic Era” has a purpose to explain the beginning of the creation of the Antigonid kingdom that took place in mainland Greece. The results of the study showed that after Alexander's death, he left the mighty Macedonian empire, which eventually led to the division of power among the warlords who followed him into war.The Macedonian empire, centered on mainland Greece at this time, faced various problems, especially from the royal instability and internal strife. The weakness of the Macedonian empire allowed the general Antiochus, follower of Alexander, to finally unite the Macedonian empire and inherited the legitimacy of rule.He also changed the royal family's name to his own name instead. However the status of the establishment of the Antigonid kingdom in the early days was greatly troubled by the invasion of the surrounding territories especially from the warlords of Alexander who wanted to hold Macedonia as part of their empire, leading to a war in the next hundred years. |
