The Development of Online Lessons Using Self-directed Learning on Graphics Creation with Adobe Photoshop CS6 for Grade 10 Students

Abstract

The objective of this research was to develop and find the quality of an online lesson using selfdirected learning on graphics creation with Adobe Photoshop CS6 for grade 10 students. The target group used in this research were 5 experts in the content, and 5 experts in the technique and methodology selected by purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this research were the learning plan, the online lessons, the assessment form of the content, and the assessment form of the techniques and methodology. The statistical data used in the analysis were mean and standard deviation. The finding revealed that an online lesson using self-directed learning on graphics creation with Adobe Photoshop CS6 for grade 10 students consisted of 3 units which were basic Photoshop CS6 usage, components of Photoshop CS6, and set of tools for creating a selection. The online lessons using self-directed learning had the quality of the content at the highest level (x = 4.50, S.D. = 0.29). The online lessons using self-directed learning had the quality of the technique and methodology at the highest level (x = 4.66, S.D. = 0.13). The evaluation results of the online lessons from the experts showed that all of them accepted the developed online lessons. It could be concluded that the developed online lessons could be used for self-directed learning for grade 10 students.
