Abstract: This descriptive research is aimed to study health literacy, behavior for preventive the progression of chronic kidney disease and the relationship between health literacy and behavior for preventive the progression of chronic kidney disease among type 2 diabetes patients, Rang Nok sub-district, Sam Ngam district, Phichit province. The samples were 135 patients, aged 35 and older who participated. The research tools were doing the health literacy test (Cognitive and Decision skills), health literacy questionnaires (Access, Communication, Self-management and Media skills) and behavior for preventive the progression of chronic kidney disease questionnaires. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Spearman Rank Correlation Coefficient or Spearman’s rho. The results were shown: that health literacy was at a moderate level (62.2%) and behavior for preventive the progression of chronic kidney disease was at a good level (88.9%). The health literacy was positively correlated with behavior for preventive the progression of chronic kidney disease at a low level (r = .227, P<0.05). The results from this study can be used as basic knowledge for authorities to plan health literacy programs and activities for promoting behavior for preventive the progression of chronic kidney disease in diabetes patients.
