Abstract: Bai Lan scriptures, the Lanna script of the Thai ethnic group, are derived from Ban Khu Bua Museum, Ratchaburi. It is an important historical evidence that serves to convey a variety of stories to live in the midst of changes in the present. Thailand is a country of diverse ethnic groups each ethnic group has a unique identity inherited from the wisdom of ancestors. The Thai Yuan ethnic group also has their own identity which is inherited as well. The tools used in the inheritance of different cultures is language and the recording of the various stories is the characters themselves. The Thai Yuan ethnic group have recorded various stories by writing the Lanna script on the palm leaves to convey wisdom, lifestyle, beliefs, religion and lifestyle in various areas. Even at present, the Thai people have been influenced by the central Thai language in both spoken and written language but the historical traces of the Thai language are still preserved and appear to be intact.
