Concept and Tradition of Nezha in Taiwan between 1992-2019 C.E.

Abstract

This article dedicates to illustrate Nezha's concept and tradition in Taiwan between 1992-2019 C.E. that reflects belief, tradition and rite about Nezha from migrating Chinese ancestors who brought their faith with them and transferred it to their descendants. The reinterpretation occurred in 1992 C.E. when the movie "Rebels of the Neon God" was broadcast. This cinema displayed Nezha's Oedipus complex characteristic vividly. Then, the appearance of Electric-Techno Neon Gods or Techno Nezha was promoted to represent the Oedipus complex in the relationship between China and Taiwan. This article uses the concept of Mikhail Bakhtin to analyse the concept and tradition about Nezha to imply the frustration of Taiwan's inferior status to China but cannot demonstrate directly. So, they can communicate through the play of carnival that they can act what they want guiltlessly.
