Abstract: The Lawyers' Council is responsible for supervising lawyers to ensure that lawyers behave in accordance with the Lawyers' Council Regulations on Lawyers' Ethics B.E. 2529 (1986), and Clause 17 of the Regulations restricts the rights of lawyers excessively. The restriction of such rights is something that has been practiced for a long time, which may cause disadvantages to lawyers. The public and society. When studying foreign laws and cases. It was found that many countries now allow lawyers to advertise personal and professional information under certain conditions. For this reason, the Bar Council should consider amending the Regulations on Lawyer Ethics B.E. 2529 (1986), Clause 17 Advertising, by allowing lawyers to advertise personal and professional information under appropriate conditions to solve the problems that arise. Moving from "restricting advertising" to "directing ethical communications" should allow lawyers to identify their expertise and inform rates within the framework of truth and transparency, balancing the preservation of professional dignity with responding to the needs of today's society.
