This qualitative study aimed to investigate: (1) the factors influencing K-pop dance imitation among adolescent fans in Nakhon Pathom Province, and (2) the motivations and meanings associated with K-pop dance cover performances among adolescent fans in the same area. The key informants consisted of ten adolescent K-pop cover dancers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a semi-structured interview guide and in-depth interviews. The collected data were analyzed using content analysis. This study found that the primary factors influencing K-pop dance imitation were social media and individuals within the participants’ close social circles. These findings are consistent with Bandura’s Social Learning Theory, which explains that individuals acquire behaviors through observing role models in both digital media and real-life settings. Participants’ initial motivation for engaging in K-pop cover dancing originated from their admiration for K-pop artists. Over time, this motivation evolved into a means of relieving stress, enhancing personal development, and improving dance skills. These findings are consistent with Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, particularly the needs for esteem and self-actualization. Regarding the meaning of K-pop cover dancing and identity formation, participants perceived the activity as requiring dedication, discipline, and continuous practice to demonstrate respect for the original artists. They also regarded cover dancing as a safe space for self-expression, where they could overcome shyness, build self-confidence, and develop a strong sense of belonging through friendships with fellow dancers. Furthermore, this study found that participants viewed their dance skills as valuable resources that could be developed into opportunities for content creation, portfolio development, dance competitions, auditions, and paid performances. This demonstrates how cultural capital can be transformed into social and economic capital, creating future educational and career opportunities.en_US
