| Abstract: | This research aimed to: (1) develop an online learning lesson based on a competency-based instructional plan on the topic of Basic Microsoft Office Applications; (2) investigate students’ practical performance after learning through the developed online learning lesson; (3) compare students’ learning achievement before and after learning through the developed online learning lesson; and (4) examine students’ satisfaction with the developed online learning lesson. The sample consisted of 31 third-year undergraduate students majoring in Computer Education who were enrolled in the second semester of the 2026 academic year. The participants were selected using Simple Random Sampling by the lottery method. The research instruments included a competency-based instructional plan and an online learning lesson developed by the researcher, consisting of multimedia materials, demonstration videos, content sheets, assignment sheets, online quizzes, and practical learning activities delivered through Google Classroom based on the ADDIE instructional design model and the competency-based learning approach. Other instruments included quality evaluation forms for the online learning lesson in terms of content and technical aspects, a learning achievement test, a competency-based practical performance assessment form, and a student satisfaction questionnaire. The data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the dependent samples t-test. The research findings revealed that: (1) the overall quality of the developed online learning lesson was rated at a good level (M = 4.39, SD = 0.61). The content quality was rated at a good level (M = 4.45, SD = 0.62), while the technical quality was also rated at a good level (M = 4.36, SD = 0.61); (2) 93.55% of the students achieved the competency-based practical performance criteria at the good level; (3) the students’ mean post-test score was 87.71, which was significantly higher than the mean pre-test score of 54.03. The mean score increased by 33.68 points, and the difference was statistically significant at the .05 level; and (4) the students’ overall satisfaction with the developed online learning lesson was at a very good level (M = 4.65, SD = 0.64). |
