Development of Online Lessons in Computing Science for Grade 8 Students at Sahabamrungvitya School

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) develop an online learning module for the Computational Science course for Grade 8 students at Sahabumrungwittaya School; 2) compare students’ learning achievement before and after learning through the developed online lessons; and 3) examine students’ satisfaction toward the online learning module. The sample consisted of 25 Grade 8 students, selected by cluster random sampling. The research instruments included: 1) the online learning module for Computational Science, 2) a media quality evaluation form covering content and technical aspects, 3) a learning achievement test, and 4) a student satisfaction questionnaire. The data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and dependent samples t-test. The results revealed that: 1) the developed online learning module was rated at the highest level of quality (𝑥̅ = 4.61, S.D. = 0.47); 2) students’ post-learning achievement was significantly higher than their pre-learning achievement at the .05 level of statistical significance; and 3) students’ satisfaction toward the online learning module was at the highest level (𝑥̅ = 4.60, S.D. = 0.63).
