Development of "Reach You" Application for Construction Waste Management on the Android Platform

Abstract

This research aimed to develop a mobile application, "Reach You," on the Android operating system to serve as an intermediary platform for trading construction waste through an auction system. The system development process was based on the software development life cycle methodology, comprising project planning, requirements gathering and data analysis, system design following UX/UI principles, and database design using relational database architecture. The front-end user interface was developed using the Flutter Framework and Dart programming language, while the back-end core functions were developed using PHP under the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture. System testing and refinement were conducted based on user’s feedback. The research findings revealed that the application achieved its defined objectives. Users were able to register construction waste items, while buyers could participate in auctions. Each auction lasted for 24 hours to find the winning bidder, and users could schedule item pickups and confirm transactions completely and efficiently. The system significantly reduced the time and processes involved in managing construction waste and contributed to promoting sustainable environmental management in the long term.
