Enforcing Problems in Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance Act B.E. 2565 about Implementing Body-Worn Camera program for the officers.

Abstract

Thailand has promulgated the Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance Act B.E.2565. Researches from many countries found that attaching video and audio recording devices (Body-Worn Camera : BWC or Body-Worn Video : BWV) to the body of officers is likely to be able to prevent such acts. It also protects officials from being persecuted and can also be used as evidence in legal proceedings. The Thai government therefore places special importance on the use of video and audio recording equipment, namely, the Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance Act B.E. 2565 was enforced on 22 February B.E.2566 with Place the principle of recording images and sounds while performing duties in Section 22 for the benefit of the judicial process and humanitarian principles, as well as being used as a tool to protect officials from accusations arising from the performance of duties.
