dc.description.abstractThis study was a cross-sectional analytical study. The objective of this study was to study accidents in the elderly and to study factors related to accidents among the elderly in DonYang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phetchaburi Province.􀀃The sample size of 290 elderly among aged 60 and over in Don Yang Sub-district, Mueang District, Phetchaburi Province. Data was collected using an interview form with a reliability value of 0.89. Data analysis by descriptive statistics: percentage, mean, standard deviation, lowest-highest values and analyze related factors to accidents among the elderly were with multiple logistic regression, as to present odd ratio and 95% reliability range, Sig at 0.05 The results of the study in the past 6 months, the prevalence of accidents among the elderly was 43.1%. The main causes of accidents were falls down at 30.3%, followed at 8.2%, cut with a sharp and road accidents at 2.0%, respectively. Female 61.4%, were between the age of 60 and 69 years, 52.4%. The mean age was 69.74 years (SD=4.71),􀀃married 69.7%, graduated from primary school, 89.0%, agricultural occupation 59.3%, live with their families 96.6%. The analysis results findings of predisposing factors were related to accidents: age in the early elderly (60-69 years) the opportunity to risk accidents is 2.6 times that of the late elderly (70 years and over) (95% CI = 1.55–4.47) and the elderly with congenital disease the opportunity to risk accidents is 1.7 times that of the elderly without congenital disease (95%CI = 1.02-2.80).en_US
