dc.description.abstract | The objective of this study was to assess the physical market to enhance the standardized market and public health practices to prevent the spread of the corona-virus as well as to check for contaminants in food sold in the market, such as borax, formaldehyde, sodium-hydrosulfite and salicylic acid. The market in this research was located in Saensuk Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chonburi Province. The results showed physical criteria to enhance the standardized market, passed 18 criteria, representing 90.0%. There were two items that did not qualify as cooked food was not completely concealed and found contaminants in food. The public health practice assessment for the prevention of the spread of the coronavirus 2019, found that the marketplace passed 18 criteria, representing 85.7%. There were three items that did not qualify as did not produce price tags, cooked food was not completely concealed and there were no device or tray for receiving money from the buyer. A total of 69 samples were collected for food contaminants in 40 food stalls and found no contaminants in 66 samples. Three samples of food containing contaminants were found, representing 4.3%, one sample of borax in ground pork, one sample of formaldehyde in crispy squid and one sample of sodium-hydrosulfite in rumens. The research recommendation are surveillance and monitoring food stalls where contaminants were detected and including using the results of the study to give advice and improve the market further. | en_US |
