Abstract: This article “Consulship in Roman Republic History” has objective to study the development of the consular system during the Roman Republic. The results of the study showed that after the end of the monarchy in the Roman kingdom. The Romans underwent a new government with the incorporation of a consular system of two as a balance of power between them. And it was also a new phenomenon of domination in the ancient world that occurred as well.􀀃However during the first period, consuls were chosen primarily from the Roman aristocracy, the Patricians. The powers of the two consuls lasted until the reign of the Roman Empire. All consul powers were transferred to the Roman emperor and ultimately made the consular regime lose its role in Roman rule.
