The development of innovative blended learning and teaching methods to enhance skills in searching for medicinal plant information.

Abstract

Knowledge of medicinal plants plays as an important role in providing quality pharmaceutical services. Therefore, pharmacy students should be trained in skills related to searching information on medicinal plants. The use of keywords in each category for searching is an important part in obtaining the right information, which the information from these searches may be from books, publication journals or electronic documents that can be searched through the internet. Therefore, providing basic search skills is necessary. The research team has created an innovation for strengthening search skills with tools for measuring the skill level in searching for medicinal plants information, and a system for establishing medicinal plant knowledge for education. By using the integrated information of medicinal plants as a model for knowledge management, 2nd year pharmacy students of Silpakorn University who enrolled in second semester 2018/course 568352 “Informatics for Health Professionals” on topics “Knowledge management”, where students will learn the principles of keywords by using medicinal plant information as an example to search. From this approach when the study was over, it was found that students had the ability to search for herbs by assigning keywords better when compared to before teaching. In addition, the evaluation of student’s opinions and satisfaction in relation to learning of search skills were at a good level. Therefore, it can be demonstrated that such innovations can be applied to studies for searching information on medicinal plants and may be applied to other topics in the future.

ความรู้เรื่องพืชสมุนไพรมีส่วนสำคัญต่อการให้บริการด้านเภสัชกรรมอย่างมีคุณภาพ ดังนั้นนักศึกษาเภสัชศาสตร์ควร ได้รับการฝึกฝนทักษะที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการสืบค้นข้อมูลด้านพืชสมุนไพร ซึ่งการใช้คำสำคัญในแต่ละหมวดเพื่อใช้ในการสืบค้นมี ส่วนสำคัญในการได้ข้อมูลที่ตรงกับความต้องการ โดยข้อมูลที่ได้จากการสืบค้นเหล่านี้อาจจะนำมาจากหนังสือ วารสารตีพิมพ์ หรือเอกสารอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ที่สามารถสืบค้นผ่านเครือข่ายอินเทอร์เน็ต ดังนั้นการให้ทักษะพื้นฐานในการสืบค้นจึงเป็นสิ่งที่ จำเป็น คณะผู้วิจัยจึงได้สร้างนวัตกรรมสำหรับการเสริมสร้างทักษะการสืบค้นด้วยเครื่องมือสำหรับทดสอบวัดระดับทักษะการ สืบค้นข้อมูลพืชสมุนไพรและระบบสถาปนาองค์ความรู้พืชสมุนไพรเพื่อการศึกษา โดยใช้ข้อมูลเชิงบูรณาการของพืชสมุนไพร เป็นต้นแบบในการจัดการองค์ความรู้ให้กับนักศึกษาเภสัชศาสตร์ชั้นปีที่ 2 ที่ลงทะเบียนรายวิชา 568352 สารสนเทศศาสตร์ สำหรับบุคลากรสุขภาพ ในหัวข้อปฏิบัติการ การจัดการองค์ความรู้ ภาคการศึกษาปลาย ปีการศึกษา 2561 ของคณะเภสัช ศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรโดยนักศึกษาจะได้เรียนรู้หลักการของการให้คำสำคัญ โดยใช้ข้อมูลพืชสมุนไพรเป็นตัวอย่างใน การสืบค้น จากแนวทางนี้เมื่อการเรียนสิ้นสุดลง พบว่านักศึกษามีความสามารถในการสืบค้นข้อมูลสมุนไพรด้วยการกำหนดคำ สำคัญได้ดีขึ้นเมื่อเทียบกับก่อนจะมีการเรียนการสอน อีกทั้งผลการประเมินความคิดเห็นและความพึงพอใจที่เกี่ยวข้องกับ ทักษะการสืบค้นอยู่ในระดับที่ดี ดังนั้นแสดงให้เห็นว่านวัตกรรมดังกล่าวสามารถนำมาใช้กับการเรียนการสอนเพื่อการสืบค้น ข้อมูลพืชสมุนไพรรวมทั้งอาจสามารถนำไปประยุกต์ใช้กับหัวข้ออื่น ๆ ได้ต่อไปในอนาคตอีกด้วย
