Guidelines for School Management Toward Excellence of Thachana School under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Surat Thani–Chumphon

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: (1) to study the administration of Thachana School toward excellence under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Surat Thani–Chumphon; and (2) to investigate the guidelines for administering Thachana School toward excellence under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Surat Thani–Chumphon. The population consisted of 56 administrators and teachers of Thachana School under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Surat Thani–Chumphon during the 2025 academic year. The entire population was used as the research sample. For the investigation of the guidelines for school administration toward excellence, three key informants were selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments were a five-point rating scale questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of .934 and a semi-structured interview. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The research findings revealed that: (1) the overall administration of Thachana School toward excellence in all seven aspects was at a high level. When each aspect was considered individually, the highest mean score was found in the learner-focused aspect, followed by the operational process aspect, while the leadership aspect had the lowest mean score. (2) The guidelines for administering Thachana School toward excellence consisted of seven aspects comprising a total of 96 guidelines. These guidelines covered establishing clear administrative policies and directions, analyzing the organizational environment for strategic planning, focusing on learners as the center of educational management, developing personnel, utilizing information systems and continuous evaluation for improvement, and driving the organization through the 4F–HTMP Model to enhance school quality toward sustainable excellence
