The Development of Web-based Instruction with Demonstrating Method in Basic Photoshop for Grade 9 Students at Watdonkaidee Municipal School

Abstract

The objective of this research was to 1) develop a web-based instruction with demonstrating method in basic photoshop for grade 9 students at Watdonkaidee municipal school, 2) compare learning achievement before and after learning with web-based instruction with demonstrating method and 3) study the students' satisfaction with web-based instruction with demonstrating method. The sample group consisted of 21 Grade 9 students from Don Kaidee Municipal School, selected by cluster random sampling. The research instruments included a learning management plan, an online lesson with demonstration-based instruction, a learning achievement test, and a student satisfaction questionnaire. The statistics used were mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The research results found that 1) The demonstration-based web-assisted instruction system for basic Photoshop usage comprised three lessons: Lesson 1: Features and Getting Started with Adobe Photoshop, Lesson 2: Basic Image Editing Tools, and Lesson 3: Image Editing Procedures in Adobe Photoshop. The quality of the web-assisted instruction was evaluated at the highest level for content quality (x ̅ = 4.63, S.D. = 0.40) And the technical quality of media production is at the highest level.(x ̅= 4.79, S.D. = 0.41) 2) Students have post-learning achievement significantly higher than pre-learning at the .05 significance level, and 3) Students’ satisfaction with learning through the web-based instruction with demonstrating method in basic photoshop is at a high level (x ̅= 4.39, S.D. = 0.33)
