Learning evaluation of students according to learning standards field experience of students in the cooperative education project Department of Welding Engineering Technology College of Industrial Technology

Abstract

The purposes of this research were: 1) to evaluate the learning outcomes of students according to field experience learning standards and 2 ) to find out the wans to promote learning outcomes in term of field experiences of students. In this research, the researcher chose to conduct qualitative research by using research tools such as in-depth interviews to obtain the key informants. There were a total of 3 1 key informants, divided into 22 cooperative education students, 3 cooperative supervisors and 6 mentors in the workplace. The researcher collected data by means of focus group discussions and individual interviews with audio tape recordings. The audio tapes were transcribed from a "verbatim" voice recorder. Then, the data from the group discussions were analyzed through content analysis and written as a report. The results revealed that 1) The welding engineering technology students obtained learning outcomes based on the field experience learning standards that meet expectations of learning outcomes from field experience in all 5 aspects, namely operational skills from the workplace; integration of knowledge gained from learning; human relations and ability to work with others; discipline, punctuality, understanding of corporate culture and adapting to the workplace; assertiveness and putting creativity to use In addition. 2) Encountered obstacles and were analyzed to find got guidelines for promoting learning and field experiences for students of the cooperative education project, for example, organizing training to prepare before going out for cooperative education, training clarifying the process of preparing reports, preparing MOUs with enterprises, preparing student supervision process, further improvement of course contents that were important to work in the workplace
