Li Bai : God of Poetry in Tang Dynasty

Abstract

This article presents a biography of Li Bai, nicknamed the “God of Poetry” of the Tang Dynasty, and gives an analysis of Li Bai Tang Dynasty poetry, including nature, war, isolation, friendship, homeland nostalgia, and admiration for the beauty of noble women, in the book entitled 300 Selected Poems of the Tang Dynasty, using discourse studies, text analysis, discursive practices, and sociocultural practices. It is believed that language, literature, and society interact as inseparable things. The presentation of Li Bai language tactics shows that various language tactics are used in discourse, such as vocabulary choice, poetry choice, metaphor, paradox, and counterparts. These poems play a role in creating, promoting, inheriting, and disseminating ideas about the mainstream that emerged in that era.
