Dvaravati pattern design using the Geometer's Sketchpad (GSP) program to promote the creative development of local woven products

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research. The objectives are: 1) To study the Dvaravati pattern from the Dharma Chakra and ancient artifacts in Phra Pathom Chedi National Museum. Nakhon Pathom Province. 2) Dvaravati pattern design using The Gemeter's Sketchpad (GSP) program. 3) Create a prototype of Dvaravati pattern woven fabric by applying Dvaravati patterns in product development. Study from a specific sample group, namely, Thammachak and antiques of the Dvaravati Kingdom in Phra Pathom Chedi National Museum. Use the data obtained for designing Dvaravati pattern fabrics to produce prototype products. Data were analyzed by content analysis. The results showed that 1. The study of Phra Thammachak and antiques at Phra Pathom Chedi National Museum found that most of the Dvaravati art patterns were geometric as the basis, i.e. circles, rectangles and triangles formed by geometric transformations such as rotation, reflection. parallel shift causing Dvaravati patterns in various arts. The researcher has selected 5 patterns of Dvaravati that are interesting and suitable for weaving, namely: 1. Flower pattern, 2.bow-head pattern, 3. Kan Khot plant pattern. 4. Diamond pattern 5. Thammachak altar pattern for use in designing patterns and developing local woven products 2. The Geometer's Sketchpad (GSP) program can design 5 woven fabric patterns, namely: 1.Flower pattern 2.Bow head pattern 3.Kankow plant pattern. 4. Diamond pattern 5. Thammachak altar pattern. Dvaravati patterns designed can be used to weave local fabrics. 3. Prototype products of local woven cloth with Dvaravati pattern resulting from the adoption of all 5 Dvaravati patterns to design a new fabric pattern. The resulting indigenous fabrics are unique, representing the local weaving culture of Nakhon Pathom Province. Promoting the development of local woven products to create added value for the local woven products of Nakhon Pathom Province and increase sustainable competitiveness.
