dc.description.abstract | The articles“ Ptolemy II and The Establishment Power of Ptolemy Dynasty in Egypt” aims to study the formation of the Ptolemy Empire after the death of Alexander. The results of the study showed that after Ptolemy I established the kingdom of Ptolemy in Egypt, the kingdom was not stable. When Ptolemy II, son of him, ascended the throne he has been firmly established in power since his war with the Seleucid kingdom over Syria, a stronghold in Asia Minor. He also played a key role in expanding power to Greece and turning Greek city-states into satellite states. In addition, Ptolemy II also laid the foundation for the administration of the kingdom until it became more stable. Importantly, he was also the first king to establish a royal cult, elevating the status of kingship in Hellenistic era to the pharaohs of ancient Egypt. | en_US |
