Abstract

The article "Development of the Plebian Council in Roman Republic" aims to study the evolution of the Plebian Council. The results of the study revealed that the Plebian Council was formed during the transition from the Roman kingdom to the roman republic based on the Curia. This is the original council that has existed since the creation of King Romulus. The Plebian council during the first time did not play a role as it should because most of its power fell to the senate, which was the council of the roman aristocracy. Until, over time, the plebians demanded more power to exercise their own laws. As a result, the plebian council had more power. The power of great importance was the enactment of the laws of the plebians that would later apply to both the Patricians and the plebians and as a result, the laws passed by the plebian house were as sacred and equal as those passed by the later Roman Senate.
