dc.description.abstract | The purpose of descriptive research were to study the prevalence of depression among the students in a private university and to study factors related to depression. The sample were 286 students of the 1st-4th year who enrolled in the first semester of academic year 2020. Which selected by multistage sampling.. The questionnaires included 4 parts; 1) Intrapersonal factors, 2) Inter personal factors 3) self-efficacy and ) CES-D questionnaires. It was validated by 3 experts; IOC of part 3 and 4 were =9 7 แ ล ะ 0 . 8 9 . The reliability was test with 25 students, which were at and 0.85. The descriptive statistics were used to analyze data including the Pearson’s correlation The results was found that 57.7 %, of the sample were at the severe depression, 17.1% was at mild to moderate depression and 25.2 %. did not have depression. Self-efficacy and family commitment were related to depression with statistical significant at .05 level ( r= -0.38 and 0.25 respectively). Other factors did not relate with depression. Conclusion and recommendations: The researchers suggests that 1) Depression screening and self-efficacy assessment should be performed for each student at the beginning to provide information for advisor to take care and help students appropriately and continuously 2) Activities that promote self-efficacy should be organized to build self-confidence, ready to coping any situation and be able to manage themselves in term of studying and living appropriately. | en_US |
