Perception of risk , Severity of the disease On prevention behavior of COVID- 19 of higher education students in Private University in Bangkok

Abstract

The purpose of this survey research was to study perception of risk, severity of disease and prevention behavior of COVID-19. Study the relationship of risk perception, severity of the disease towards the prevention behavior of COVID-19 in higher education students, private University in Bangkok. The stratified sample comprised of 400 higher education Students, private Universities, Bangkok. The research instruments consisted of 4 parts : personal information questionnaire, perceptions of coronavirus infection risk, perception of coronavirus infection and prevention behavior of coronavirus disease of private university students in Bangkok. Reliability was analyzed by using the Cronbach Alpha coefficient = 0.86. The data was analyzed by means, percentage, standard deviation, and Pearson correlation. The results founded that age was significantly associated with the prevention behaviors of COVID- 2019 at 0.01. gender, faculties and religion were not statistically related with prevention behaviors of COVID- 2019. Risk perception was statistically related to coronavirus 2019 infection prevention behavior. at 0.01 Perception of severity was significantly associated with the prevention behavior of COVID-19 at 0.05. Therefore, more defensive behaviors should be encouraged and increased awareness.
