Abstract: | Nakhon Pathom province locates on western part of Bangkok. By considering the geological condition, the original material in this area is clay which originates from both of spread out along the marine and alluvial deposits accumulating and complex subsoil affected by geological processes. This research presents the subsoil profiles modelling in 2-dimensions (2D) and 3-dimensions (3D) including studying on the relation between physical properties and engineering properties for foundation design in Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University area, Nong Pak Long Sub-district Mueang Nakhon Pathom, Nakhon Pathom province based on the existing 10 boreholes information, 30 m. in average depth. The study results show that sub soil condition can be exposed to 4 layers; at the depths of about 0 – 2 meters is Top Soil, 2 - 13 meters is Medium to Stiff CLAY, 13 -24 meters is Medium Dense to Very Dense Silty SAND and 24 -40 meters is Very Stiff to Hard. By considering the engineering property, the pile foundation is recommended for construction. |
