Development of Astronomy in Greek Dark Age

Abstract

The Greek people were one of the first people of the world knowing the calculation of celestial objects. Later, they accumulated knowledge of astronomy and also calculated the calendar year, which affected learning about the seasons leading to agricultural cultivation. In this way, knowledge of Greek astronomy have been continuously developed. Even in the Greek dark age, Greek astronomy became the main knowledge of the period and was the foundation for intensive astronomy in classical Greek later.

ชาวกรีกเป็นชนชาติแรก ๆ ที่รู้จักการคำนวณทางด้านเทหะวัตุถุบนท้องฟ้า ต่อมาพวกเขาได้สั่งสมความรู้เรื่องดารา ศาสตร์รวมทั้งยังสามารถคำนวนปฏิทินรอบปีซึ่งมีผลต่อการเรียนรู้ในเรื่องฤดูกาลอันนำไปสู่การเพาะปลูกด้านการเกษตร ทั้งนี้ ความรู้ทางด้านดาราศาสตร์มีการพัฒนามาอย่างต่อเนื่อง แม้ว่าจะอยู่ในช่วงสมัยยุคมืดของกรีก แต่ทว่าองค์ความรู้ทางดารา ศาสตร์ได้กลายมาเป็นองค์ความรู้หลักที่สำคัญของสมัยดังกล่าวและยังเป็นรากฐานให้เกิดความรู้ด้านดาราศาสตร์อย่างเข้มข้น ในสมันกรีกคลาสสิกด้วย
