Philosophical Evolution in Roman Empire

Abstract

The Roman philosophy evolved strongly from Greek philosophy. Important cause because of the Greek immigration to colonize the southern Roman peninsula during the Greek dark age. That migration resulted in the influx of Greek philosophy to italy at that time. Until when Roman empire was able to establish her civilization so Greek philosophy remained also very powerful, and it was the current mainstream philosophy, especially the school of Epicurean and of the Stoic philosophy, which played a large role in Roman civilization over the past hundreds of years.

ปรัชญาของโรมันมีวิวัฒนาการรากฐานมาจากปรัชญากรีกอย่างมาก สาเหตุสำคัญมาจากการที่ชาวกรีกอพยพไป สร้างอาณานิคมที่คาบสมุทรอิตาลีทางตอนใต้ในสมัยกรีกยุมืด การอพยพในครั้งนั้นได้ทำให้เกิดการไหล่บ่าของปรัชญากรีกไป ยังอิตาลีอย่างมาก จวบจนกระทั่งเมื่ออาณาจักรโรมันสามารถลถาปนาอารยธรรมของตนขึ้นมา ปรัชญากรีกก็ยังทรงอิทธิพล อย่างมากและเป็นปรัชญากระแสหลักที่ก่อตัวขึ้นโดยเฉพาะปรัชญาสกุลเอพิคิวเรียนกับปรัชญาสกุลสโตอิกซึ่งมีบทบาทอย่าง มากต่ออารยธรรมโรมันในช่วงหลายร้อยปีที่ผ่านมา
