Financial Factors and Capital Structure on Profitability of Listed Companies in the Medical Business Group in the Stock Exchange of Thailand

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the financial factors and capital structure that affect the profitability of listed companies in the medical business group in the Stock Exchange of Thailand. The samples used in the research comprised of 13 listed companies in the Medical Business group in the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Historical data were collected from the financial statements for a period of 10 year from 2009-2018. The statistics used in the data analysis are Mean, Maximum, Minimum, standard deviation, Comparison of industrial Average Ratios and multiple linear regression analysis The results showed that the average growth rate from the growth of medical fee income which was the income from the main business of the company was equivalent to 8.2105 percent, while the size of the business regarding the value of assets accounted for 8,717.1444 million baht with an average of 1,477.7573 million shares. And by comparing the capital structure that affects the company's profitability to the industry average, it is found that Ramkhamhaeng Hospital Public Company Limited has the highest earnings per share and Thonburi Medical Center Public Company Limited having the lowest earnings per share. In addition, the results revealed that from 2009-2018 Size of firm and Shareholders are related to the profitability of the listed companies in the medical business group in the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Earnings per share (EPS) in the same direction because the company is in the industry which large businesses will have an advantage over small businesses as well as having the competitive advantage in the market In addition, shareholders are the most beneficiary of the business. Which has the greatest influence on the growth or survival of the business.

การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยทางการเงินและโครงสร้างเงินทุนที่มีผลต่อความสามารถในการทำ กำไรของบริษัทจดทะเบียนกลุ่มธุรกิจการแพทย์ในตลาดหลักทรัพย์แห่งประเทศไทย กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือบริษัท จดทะเบียนกลุ่มธุรกิจการแพทย์ในตลาดหลักทรัพย์แห่งประเทศไทยจำนวน 13 บริษัท โดยรวบรวมข้อมูลจากงบการเงิน ย้อนหลังระหว่างปี 2552-2561 เป็นระยะเวลา 10 ปี สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย (Mean) ค่าสูงสุด (Maximum) ค่าต่ำสุด (Minimum) ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (Standard Deviation) การเปรียบเทียบอัตราส่วนถัวเฉลี่ย ของอุตสาหกรรม (Industrial Average Ratios) และการวิเคราะห์ความถดถอยพหุคูณ (Multiple Linear Regression Analysis) จากการศึกษาพบว่าบริษัทมีอัตราการเติบโตเฉลี่ยจากการเติบโตของรายได้ค่ารักษาพยาบาลซึ่งเป็นรายได้ที่มา จากธุรกิจหลักของบริษัท มีค่าเท่ากับร้อยละ 8.2105 ในขณะที่ขนาดของกิจการโดยคำนึงถึงมูลค่าของสินทรัพย์ มีค่าเฉลี่ย เท่ากับ 8,717.1444 ล้านบาท จำนวนผู้ถือหุ้น มีค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 1,477.7573 ล้านหุ้น และจากการเปรียบเทียบโครงสร้าง เงินทุนที่มีผลต่อความสามารถในการทำกำไรของบริษัทต่อค่าเฉลี่ยอุตสาหกรรมพบว่า บริษัท โรงพยาบาลรามคำแหง จำกัด (มหาชน) มีกำไรต่อหุ้นสูงสุด และบริษัท ธนบุรี เมดิคอล เซ็นเตอร์ จำกัด (มหาชน) มีกำไรต่อหุ้นต่ำที่สุด นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่า ในช่วงปี พ.ศ.2552-2561 ขนาดของบริษัทและจำนวนของผู้ถือหุ้นมีความสัมพันธ์กับความสามารถในการทำกำไรของ บริษัทจดทะเบียนกลุ่มธุรกิจการแพทย์ในตลาดหลักทรัพย์แห่งประเทศไทย ด้านกำไรต่อหุ้น (EPS) ในทิศทางเดียวกัน เนื่องจากบริษัทที่อยู่ในอุตสาหกรรม ซึ่งธุรกิจที่มีขนาดใหญ่ย่อมจะมีความได้เปรียบมากกว่าธุรกิจขนาดเล็ก และได้เปรียบ ทางด้านการแข่งขันในตลาด อีกทั้งผู้ถือหุ้นเป็นผู้ได้รับประโยชน์สูงสุดของธุรกิจ ซึ่งมีอิทธิพลต่อการเจริญเติบโตหรือ การอยู่รอดของธุรกิจมากที่สุด
