A Model for the Promoting of Infectious Waste Management Behavior for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 in Within Households of the Population in Phetchaburi Province

Title: A Model for the Promoting of Infectious Waste Management Behavior for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 in Within Households of the Population in Phetchaburi Province
Authors: Kulthokaew, Jarinya; Thianpongsri, Patthamawadee; Thongthai, Onuma; Keatchoopiput, Jarinya; Aunkhao, Phatsariya; Dopong, Chatrada; Nilnate, Nathakon
Abstract: The primary purpose of this quasi-experimental study was to develop a model and evaluate the
efficacy of a behavioral promotion of infectious waste management from COVID-19 prevention and control in
Phetchaburi province households. The study was conducted on a sample of 35 people. The model was
developed by applying the concept of the PRECEDE Model, consisting of four main activities: 1) survey and
analysis of basic data, 2) motivation and positive attitude, 3) increasing knowledge, and 4) building skills by
demonstrating and practicing the participatory practice of family members. The data was analyzed using the
Pair Simple T-Test statistic and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test statistic.
The results showed that the model for the management of infectious waste from the prevention and
control of COVID-19 in the households of the people of the province of Phetchaburi was implemented over a
period of six weeks and consisted of four main activities: 1) collecting and analyzing fundamental data 2)
create motivation, 3) develop knowledge and a positive attitude, and 4) develop skills in infectious waste
management from COVID-19 prevention and control in the home. It was found that the sample group had a
level of knowledge Attitudes and behaviors associated with overall infectious waste management were
significantly improved (p-vale < 0.05).
Therefore, planning should be a priority for local authorities such as sub-district health-promoting
hospitals, local administrative organizations in the area, etc. Using the concept of family participation in
health promotion, the event will design and jointly develop policies for the management of infectious
household waste. as a guideline for proper waste disposal Reduce the likelihood of breaking the COVID-19
infection cycle, lowering the morbidity rate, and preventing the spread of COVID-19 to the next area.

Abstract: During the COVID-19 pandemic, village health volunteers (VHVs) played an important role in preventing
the spread of diseases in the community. This can lead to work-related stress. The objective of this descriptive
study was to study the factors related to stress among village health volunteers in the COVID-19 situation. The
study population was 43 village health volunteers at Sisathong Sub-district, Nakhon Chaisi District, Nakhon
Pathom Province. The research instrument was the stress-related factors questionnaire consisting of 5 parts: 1)
personal factors, 2) work-related factors, 3) perception of COVID-19, 4) concern on COVID-19 and 5) ST5 stress
questionnaire. The results found that most of the village health volunteers were female (88.4%), 61-70 years
old of age (44.2%), primary education (53.5%), 􀅒 3 years of experience (25.6%), and 1-2 working days per week
(46.5 %). The overall role performance in disease control was a high level (3.96±0.39). The overall interpersonal
relationship was at the highest level (4.40±0.45). The overall perception of COVID-19 was the highest level
(4.27±0.39). The overall concern on COVID-19 was a high level (3.77±0.77). Most participants have a low-stress
level (83.7%) followed by moderate stress level (14.0%) and high-stress level (2.3%), respectively. Moreover,
there was no relationship between personal factors, work-related factors, perception of COVID-19, and concern
on COVID-19 factor with the stress of village health volunteers.

Authors: Kumsri, Sirinun; Singsuk, Chanaphon; Thaworncharoen, Chutikarn
Abstract: This research is a quasi-experimental research aimed to study the effect of innovation to promote
behavior in prevention of 2019 coronavirus infection: a case study of Pak Nam Sub-district, Bang Khla District,
Chachoengsao Province. A sample of 346 people by simple random sampling from Krejcie & Morgan tables to
estimate the proportion of the population living in Pak Nam Subdistrict. The data were analyzed by determining
percentage, mean, standard deviation and Statistical Dependent Sample t-test. The tools used in the
experiment were the innovative “Risk Measuring Ruler”. The results of the study found that after using the
innovative ruler to measure the risk of the sample group, the prevention behavior of corona virus 2019 was
significantly higher than before the experiment at the .0 5 level. However, there should be monitoring and
community-level policies to enhance the prevention of coronavirus disease 2019 behavior to cover every
household.
